Our first and hopefully not last trip to India was an amazing journey to a land of contrasts we had never experienced before. The dirty crowded streets bursting with intense colors, the tasty, but super spicy taste of local delicacies and the loud cacophony of life rushing by. Realizing how celebrities feel, cause everybody wants to take pictures with you. The pigs and monkeys walking around as proud residents. The women from the lower caste with their beautiful saris in the richest, most vibrant colors. The guys you can see from the train window using the area around the train lines as a toilet. The old lady in the pharmacy burping in your face while explaining something about a certain homeopathic remedy. Visiting the temple of love – the Tadj Mahal – located in Agra, a city infamous for its high levels of sexual abuse. Watching the sunset on a Goan beach with a cow resting right next to you. Taking a cold shower in your stilt house made of straw. Enjoying the night view from your rooftop terrace in Jodhpur. Trying not to vomit during a 6 hour bus journey on the bumpiest road ever. Giving away your Martenitsas (traditional Bulgarian bracelets) to a gang of Indian kids. Drinking a glass of lassi after a long day of exploration. Watching Octopussy in your hotel room in Udaipur after visiting the Monsoon Palace (where part of it was filmed).
My heart tells me we will meet again, beautiful India!
